Location of voting poll: Negaunee Township Community Center Precint 1, Commissioner District 4, Negaunee Public School System Voters may register in office or any Secretary of State Office. Computerized ACUVOTE system is used for major elections. Voters can check registration status by phoning the township office and speaking with the Clerk, Deputy Clerk or office manager. To replace a lost voter registration card, just call the township office.

Zoning Board of Appeals will hear cases where a variance is requested,a conflict with land use permit exists, or other matters referred to it as indicated in the Township's Zoning Ordinance. The property owner is responsible for payment of the following fees: Newspaper Advertisement; Mailing fees; Copy fees; Zoning Board of Appeals members salary. If more than one case is being heard at the same meeting, costs are evenly divided among property owners. More information is available by calling the Township office.

Negaunee Township Building and Recreation Commitee
This elected 7-member committee oversees the maintenance of the Township Community Center, ballfields, tennis courts, basketballs courts, ski trails, hiking trails and updates the 5-year recreation plan.

Community Building/ room rental
Renters are required to provide proof of homeowners liability insurance. Renters do their own table set up, but clean up is included in rental fee. White paper table covers are included in rental fee. Kitchen is equipped with restaurant stove and refrigerator, 2 100-cup coffee pots & a 30-cup coffee pot.
Recreation Facilities
Community Center Park-Picnic-Playground-Recreation Area The park is located behind the community has playground equipment, picnic tables and grills, a basketball court, tennis court, pavilion,nature trail, and Little League, Babe Ruth, and softball fields. In addition, there is an outdoor ice rink and well maintained cross country ski trails. All outdoor facilities are open to the public and are free of charge. Kivela Road Recreation Area. Located in the northern section of the Township, this is our newest park. It has a softball field, playground equipment, basketball court, nature trail and cross country ski trail.

Negaunee Township Garbage Collection |

Negaunee Township contracts out garbage collection to North Country Disposal. Collection days are Mon,Tues, and Wed - Call the Township for your collection day.
Garbage must be put out by 6:00a.m. on the day of collection. Recycling is also done on the same day - just separate your garabge from the recyle items.
The Township bills quarterly for garabge. The charge is $10.00/month $30.00/quarter. If you have any questions about garbage collection or recycling call Rita at the Township office at 475-7869. Recycle bins with lids are available for purchase from the office for the discounted rate of $7.00 each.

Water Department serves approximately 430 customers. br
Water meter readings are done by our Water Dept staff during the first week of each month. PLEASE keep your meter accessible during this week especially during snow season.
Water rates in Negaunee Township are as follows
$ 17.0 for the first 3,000 lons
$6.00 for each 1,000 gallons after the initial 3,0000
10% late charge is added to current months bill if not paid by the 15th of the month.
$1800.00 fee to hook up to the water system at the curb stop. The home owner is responsible for bringing the water from the curb stop to the residence.
$ 50.00 quarterly sprinkler charge for underground sprinkling systems
$ 25.00 Turn ON/Turn OFF fee

Also, call this office if there has been a change of ownership, deed, title, or change of mailing address of owner.This office also handles Homestead Tax Exemptions and Board of Review forms. A $3.00 fee for each property card is charged if requested in person and picked up at the office. A $5.00 fee applies to all property cards forward via fax.
