Patient Services to low-income, uninsured, and under-insured cancer patients who are unable to respond to the catastrophic health care costs caused by the disease and its treatment.

Since the cause and cure of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is not known, treatment is usually limited to managing the symptoms.
A person with AD may have
anxiety, agitation and behavioral problems, but these can be reduced by proper care and careful use of medication. Appropriate nutrition, exercise and stimulating activities can help to maintain as much function as possible. Support and services for the family caregivers can lead to a better understanding of the disease and its symptoms. Sharing the difficulties of caregiving can improve the quality of life for all those involved with Alzheimer's disease.
Services provided by the Greater Michigan Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association include education, information and assistance, support groups, a toll-free Helpline, emergency respite care funds, a Safe Return program, advocacy and support of research for the prevention, treatment and cure of Alzheimer's disease. Our Upper Peninsula Regional office serves all 15 counties of the U.P.
