The LINK is a drop-in health & wellness storefront located in downtown Negaunee. Resources include Michigan Works employment search resources, free internet access & library of self-help materials on a wide spectrum of topics. Open to everyone. Resources are free. Material resource support to large organizations provided. Free meeting site for community groups & non-profit organizations with advance notice.

Major funding for The LINK Community Resource Center is provided by Pathways to Healthy Living in support of regional prevention initiatives.

The LINK also partners with Michigan Works & have one of their job search workstations on hand. It includes ResumeWriter software, Michigan Occupational Inventory System (MOIS), typing tutorial software & free internet access for job search. Other job search resources available on site.

NMU Recreation Services Faculty have full recreational use of the PEIF and Superior Dome if registered for a Recreation Membership. The membership is a faculty fringe benefit with the only cost being nominal income taxes attributed to the value of the membership. Immediate family members may purchase a membership at reduced prices. No additional fees are charged members for public ice skating, aerobics, racquetball/wallyball or indoor tennis courts. PEIF facilities include two newly renovated weight rooms, two gymnasiums for volleyball and basketball, ice skating, dance studio, swimming pool and separate diving tank, racquetball/wallyball courts, daily aerobics sessions, saunas, locker/towel services and more... Superior Dome facilities include basketball, volleyball, tennis courts, a 200-meter track, or the turf surface. Walking/jogging is always available during recreation hours. In addition to facilities use, the department offers instructional programs for adults and youth. Activities such as swimming, gymnastics, summer day camp, and karate are offered. Faculty are also eligible to participate in all Intramural activities. Northern Michigan University is fortunate to have some of the finest indoor recreation facilities in the country. The YMCA is for everyone and offers financial assistance. The facility in Negaunee has a Wellness Center with exercise equipment and regularly offered group exercise classes. Various youth programs are offered throughout the year at off-site locations, such as Friday Night Hoops.
