We seek that our training programs are vehicles for deep personal development, transmitting the most noble teachings of traditional martial arts: compassion, courage, endurance and inner strength.

Aikido, a powerfully dynamic Japanese martial art, grew from a traditional Samurai martial art, Daito-Ryu Ju Jutsu; Japanese swordsmanship (Kenjutsu) and Staff martial arts (jo-jutsu). It does not depend on raw strength or speed; it is suitable for anyone, of any physical ability.

The public is welcome to come and observe anytime.

The center also offers specialized training for unique needs: women's self defense, tactical defense for public personnel; and seasonal, intensive training seminars (www.aikido-marquette.com/kangeiko.htm, for example).
